Join Parks staff as we enhance Walnut Creek Wetland Park and the greenway near Apollo Heights by planting new trees and by removing litter.
Duties:
Volunteers will help dig holes and install new trees in designated locations. This project will also involve removing litter from the area.
Impact:
We will be helping to restore the native tree population in the area, and this will provide a healthy habitat for native wildlife. Removing litter also contributes to creating a healthy ecosystem.
Work Environment:
We will be working outside in the elements. There is the possibility for uneven ground. There will not be a restroom on site.
Volunteer Requirements:
Pre-registration is required. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to volunteer. If under 16 years of age, the volunteer must be accompanied by a registered adult. Everyone who volunteers must sign a release form. If anyone is under the age of 18, then a parent/guardian must sign their form as well.
Other Instructions:
Please bring a water bottle, wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and clothing that can get dirty. We will supply tools, gloves, a first-aid kit, sunscreen, and bug spray.
