Compeer is seeking volunteers who can deliver packages as a part of our Community Supported Friendship (CSF) Project. To learn more about the Community Supported Friendship Project, please visit clevelandcountymha.org/community-supported-friendship-project
Deliveries will be made throughout Cleveland County, NC, so drivers should be prepared to travel. If a particular region of the county is preferred (for example - Shelby, Kings Mountain, Boiling Springs, or Upper Cleveland County) we are happy to accommodate you!
Drivers should be 18 years or older. To apply follow these steps:
1) Complete this application online (https://clevelandcountymha.org/compeer-volunteer-application) OR
Print and mail this completed paper volunteer application to PO Box 623 Shelby, NC 28151 or fax to 704-448-2016
2) Meet the Compeer coordinator for an interview.
3) Pass a criminal background & reference check.
4) Complete a two-hour orientation/training.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivery drivers are required to be 18+, get a background check and reference check, and participate in a 2-hour long training, as is standard with other One-to-One Friendship and Phone Friends volunteers.
Drivers are expected to follow appropriate CDC/Cleveland County Health Department guidelines. This includes wearing an approved mask, maintaining at least 6 feet of distance from others, not entering anyone’s personal residence, and washing your hands or using hand sanitizer when acting as a Compeer volunteer.
Since drivers are making deliveries to individual residents, they are required to adhere to MHA’s strict confidentiality guidelines.
