Quick Overview: Nonprofit serving the senior care and nursing home community seeks a volunteer talent recruiter for our variety-style television series, Entertaining Older Folks, created for the residents of senior care and nursing homes.

Mission: Our nonprofit, Senior Care Home Entertainment, produces this cost-free and commercial-free television series to reach the isolated residents through their TV's, tablets, computers and phones. Entertaining Older Folks streams on YouTube on the Senior Care Home Entertainment channel. Each one-hour episode features loads of music, comedy sketches, magic acts, poetry and so much more.

Impact: Our nonprofit aims to alleviate depression and loneliness among the isolated residents of senior care and nursing homes. We need to keep the talent pipeline for our television series filled if we are going to produce two episodes a month. With that handled, we will be able to provide uplifting entertainment for the 2,000 senior care and nursing homes in Los Angeles as well as for the 9,000 in the state of California and the nearly 45,000 across the United States.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: The position of volunteer talent recruiter will require three hours a week. Tasks will include searching the web, specifically aggregate talent sites, to find appropriate musicians and performers we can approach to contribute to our series and then researching the contact info on these prospects.

Additional Details: We are looking to create on a weekly basis a diverse list of 20 musician and entertainer prospects to approach. Position is remote (virtual) and on going.
