ORGANIZATION: WEST PLACE ANIMAL SANCTUARY

  • 27 people are interested

Animal care volunteers have the opportunity to work directly with a variety of farm animals that come from abuse or neglect situations as well as helping to rehabilitate wildlife. This rewarding opportunity allows you to spend your morning or afternoon around the animals and really get to know them. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and various other projects to help maintain the animals living space.

We expect a lot from our animal care volunteers. First, we require at least a one-year commitment for any animal care volunteer to be considered for the position. Volunteers have one 4hr shift each week and are required to have at least a 75% attendance rate. Our animals need to be fed every single day and volunteers are responsible for finding coverage for their shift if they need to call out. We also need people with reliable vehicles who are able to get here even if there is a snowstorm or other weather hazards. Volunteers must be able to work holidays. Be aware of that when choosing a day to apply for (if you are on a Thursday shift, you will be working Thanksgiving each year, etc.). For those of you who are able to make the commitment, please fill out an application and email it to us. You can find applications on our website at Volunteer | West Place Animal Sanctuary

For anything else you need to know about our organization, please see our website at www.westplace.org.

Thank you and we hope to hear from you!
