Are you looking to gain experience in the field of human services? Or are you looking for a meaningful way to help low-income neighbors find the resources they need? Consider volunteering as an Intake & Referral Volunteer with Interfaith Outreach, a reputable organization with a 40+ year history.

Intake and Referral Volunteers work with our Case Management team to welcome clients to Interfaith, conduct new client intake meetings over the phone, connect new and existing clients to internal programs and external resources. This position provides an essential welcoming role with new clients and begins the relationship building that is critical to our shared work. Intake & Referral Volunteers partner with clients to plan next steps.

Qualifications:
-Strong interpersonal communication skills
-Comfortable speaking with a diverse group of people in a welcoming and confident manner
-Able to maintain a calm, steady approach when clients are emotionally elevated
-Good computer skills
-Available for one 4-hour or two 2-hour shifts per week. Volunteer shifts will happen at our facility but your interactions with families will be primarily be over the phone.
