About us: Gilded Tomato Company is a wood-fired mobile catering company. We are a farm-to-table business with our gardens in Rehoboth, MA. In 2018, we received the Small Business of the Year award, and we are the only Green Restaurant Association certified food truck in New England. We are 100-percent women-owned. As a social enterprise, we work with students and interns, people with disabilities - and maintain an open-minded hiring policy. We are shifting our focus during COVID-19 to utilize our farm produce in different, innovative ways.
Volunteer Description:
Gilded Tomato is looking for Gardening Volunteers to help get our garden ready for spring. Our COVID pivot has steered us to expand and diversify our organic gardens as a way to grow and contribute to the community food supply. We will continue to grow for any catering events that COVID allows us to do. Also, we have a greenhouse that requires helpers for planting and care. In preparation of/and during the growing season, tasks may include weeding, mulching, pruning, composting, and sprucing up. Less common, specific tasks may involve assembling or repairing raised beds, filling beds with soil, closing gardens for summer, and helping with various repairs. If you like the sunshine, fresh air, and good, kind people who enjoy gardening, please apply. You will need your own transportation, and we ask that we can count on you. The meeting times are flexible, including weekends. We will practice Covid safe distancing, and we wear masks and follow all protocols, as required.

●Transportation - there is no public transportation available.

Description
Since our pivot in 2009 from a chapter of the global network "Social Venture Partners", our mission has been to incubate and support social enterprise while simultaneously fostering a nurturing social impact ecosystem. In 2015, SEG’s relocation to our co-working space at 10 Davol Square, The SEG Hub, transformed the organization into the state’s leading neutral convener in the social sector. In 2016, the decision to offer programs targeting specific industries such as Food and Health & Wellness led to a significant increase in volunteers, mentors, corporate sponsors and strategic partnerships.
Today, SEG offers a robust menu of services that provide social entrepreneurs with the services they need throughout their lifecycle. We have become a trusted convener and technical assistance provider for organizations and businesses working to achieve both economic and community impact.
