Give Back- Volunteer Position

Position: Grant Writing & Fundraising from individuals, private and public resources

Who we are: A nonprofit organization located in the heart of San Francisco east bay dedicated toward providing underserved girls and boys access to education, leadership and professional development. How you can help

Job Responsibilities

The grant writer and fundraiser is responsible for leading the organization’s and corporate fundraising efforts. The individual must seek, research, write, submit grants and proposals.
Demonstrate good experience with grant writing and fundraising from individuals, private and public resources.
Must have a network of own contacts for possible funding sources.
Build, steward and grow engaging and sustainable partnerships with individuals, corporations and foundations to support a growing organization.

Strategy/Planning

  • Work with resource team to profile and develop structured relationship building plans for major donors and prospects
  • Create, communicate, implement plans/processes, and set goals to secure multi-year funding opportunities

Proposal/Grant writing

Initiate and contribute to researching, writing, editing and reviewing process for grants and proposals

Work closely with resource team to identify and articulate partnership and funding opportunities

Develop variety of collateral in the form of grant proposal, outreach emails, presentations, sales collateral and reports for existing and potential corporate and foundation partners

Grant Management: Cultivation & Stewardship

Create and maintain portfolio of individuals, corporate and foundation partners and prospects to meet ambitious annual revenue goals

Ensure successful stewardship of individuals, corporate and foundation donor relationship by managing outreach, communication, appreciation and engagement

Identify, engage, and cultivate a robust pipeline of individual, corporate and foundation prospects capable of making significant donations and endowments.

Identify and leverage opportunities to help cultivate new relationships to build robust prospect donors

Work with team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of gifts and engagement using the organization’s software

Work with team members to hold regular prospecting, pipeline, revenue forecasting and update meetings

Desired Skills and Experience

The following skills are required: Public Relations, Brand Development & Messaging, Graphic Design / Print, Social Media / Blogging, Fundraising, Grant Writing / Research

Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain levels of inventory to assure availability

2+ years fundraising experience and a proven track record of corporate and foundation donor cultivation and acquisition as well as building a corporate and foundation donor pipeline and the ability to secure large gifts or endowments

Experience in developing strategies to increase annual revenue.

Experience in successfully leading complex proposal development across multiple teams.

Excellent communication skills, including proposal and grant writing experience and ability to communicate complex concepts simply and effectively.

Record of successfully engaging cross-functional team members and leadership in the fundraising process.

Be flexible, able to move from big picture strategy to project details as required for concept proposal development

Experience with the funding community is highly desirable; knowledge of "best practices" in development.

Experience in fundraising and business development


Qualifications

Graduate from accredited university is preferred

Undergraduate of university or community colleges

The Divine Mercy Family Foundation was founded in response to the needs of children and pregnant teenagers in need of food, shelter, medical care and education.
Since our founding we continue to meet the aforementioned needs. In addition women facing domestic abuse are given opportunities to further their education or entrepreneurial careers; Adults and seniors living with chronic physical and mental illness are assisted with activities that they cannot perform for themselves such as bathing, meals, and companionship.
