We are looking for someone in Los Angeles who is eager to make an impact on the amount of plastic pollution plaguing the city while uplifting those experiencing homelessness. You will assist in organization and creation of beds and pillows stuffed entirely with soft single-use plastics that will be donated to homeless shelters around LA. Work will be conducted at our workspace within the EcoSet warehouse in Glendale. Our space is private and separated from the main warehouse so COVID is less of an issue. The goal is to create 100 pillows for PATH, one of the largest homelessness initiatives in LA, by February while establishing a streamlined process so that creating beds and pillows in the future is standardized.
All of the needed elements and infrastructure are set in place. Having a base of knowledge on our operational capacity as well as metrics to the amount of material we need and are able to process will lay the groundwork for our expansion into other cities and states.
We are growing quickly and this opportunity has the potential to become a role within the nonprofit, however, no need to think this is a trial period we are merely in need of someone who enjoys creating new operations while helping out with a great cause.

Protecting the environment from plastic film pollution while uplifting the homeless literally and figuratively.
Bags Into Beds is a 501(c)(3) that uses plastic bags and other films as a plush stuffing in beds for the homeless inhabiting southern California. The immediate goal of the project is to prevent plastic films from entering landfills, waterways and other natural areas while repurposing the plastic for something of greater use. The immediate goal is to employ individuals to aid in the manufacturing of and distribution of said beds to communities in need around the state. However, we are currently focused on refining the concept to better serve the almost 60,000 homeless individuals in L.A.
