Homebound students (as well as their teachers) are struggling to adapt to this new era of virtual education. ReCreate is known for its interactive in-class visits which have been put on hold for the time being. Instead, we are now supplying teachers and students with hands-on S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities that can be done at home!
We are looking for a handful of volunteers with open availability during the week to help assemble these kits. Tasks may vary from week to week but will mainly include things like:
- Assembling kits (using a list of required materials)
- Fulfilling weekly order requests (ex. 10 teachers each with 25-30 students)
- Prepping kit materials (ex. cutting yarn/fabric to length, using a hot glue gun)
- Recording an inventory of prepared kits and prepped materials
- Using a stapler to attach instructions to each kit
The tasks are simple but extremely impactful for students all across the Greater Sacramento region. Each shift will be two hours (10;00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:00pm) Tuesday-Thursday.
2 Shifts
- morning / 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM
- afternoon / 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM
- NONE OF THESE TIMES WORK FOR ME, BUT I CAN STILL HELP
