Women Just Like Me provides supportive services and resources to girls, young mothers, and families in disadvantaged communities by established programs and services that focuses on teen-pregnancy prevention, personal development, healthy parenting, and family well-being. The organization offers critical needed services to address disparities that African American girls and young women face today.
The Board is instrumental in the survival of any organization. The Board will support the work of Women Just Like Me Foundation and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day to day operations are led by the Executive Director, the Board relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is critical and expected.
Job Description
Serving as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director and she develops and implements programs and strategic plans.
Review outcomes and metrics created by the Operational Manager and Program Manager for evaluating its impact, and regularly measuring performance and effectiveness using those metrics; reviewing agenda's, and supporting materials prior to the board and committee meetings.
Analyze and approve annual budgets, audit reports, and material business decisions.
Assisting the President and other Board Members in identifying and recruiting other Board Members/ Trustee's.
A commitment to fundraising campaigns and assisting with organizing events with the other members.
Board Terms
A Board member will service a two -year term to be eligible for reappointment. Board meetings are typically held once a month.
