Public Relations (PR) Coordinator

Director of Marketing


Role Overview

The Public Relations (PR) Coordinator will direct programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization and manage special projects and events including designer collaborations. The position will be responsible for managing all communication initiatives related to the organization and its initiatives. The successful candidate will be capable of interfacing with internal and external professionals at the highest level, including globally.


Essential Functions


  • Identify main client groups and audiences; determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them
  • Create interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits, and develop & maintain organization internet or intranet web pages
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage
  • Manage communications budget
  • Manage special events to support new product launches, media partnerships, trade shows, designer collaborations, or other activities the Company initiates to gain public attention through media, with and without advertising directly
  • Draft speeches for organization executives and arrange interviews and other forms of contact for them
  • Evaluate promotion programs for compatibility with public relations efforts
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with media representatives
  • Direct activities of external PR agency and vendors, that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Basic

  • 2 + years of public relations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Outstanding reading comprehension
  • Active listening
  • Social perceptiveness
  • Service orientation
  • Art of persuasion
  • Critical thinking; good judgement and decision making
  • Complex problem solving
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good command of the English language
  • Understanding of sales and marketing principles and methods
  • Ability to navigate and understand law and government

Preferred

  • Experience with nonprofit communications
