A Child for All ("ACFA") is a U.S. non-profit organization with current operations in Mali in West Africa. ACFA provides a safe and loving environment for vulnerable children who had been living on the streets with no future. Over 10 years ago, twelve children were welcomed into the home that our founder grew up in and they receive the nourishment, education, health care and attention necessary to thrive - and they are doing great, especially with sports and school.

Given the growing number of vulnerable children in the area, ACFA has just opened the Zorokoro Children's Complex in the village of Zorokoro with a goal of helping 100 more vulnerable children. Only 45 minutes from Bamako, the Zorokoro Children’s Complex now has a dormitory where toddlers ages 3-5 years old are living. Having been a vulnerable child in Mali herself, ACFA’s founder (who now serves in the U.S. military) possesses a unique understanding of how to alleviate the dislocation and hopelessness that these children experience and ACFA provides the foundation for these children to grow and become empowered to achieve the futures they deserve.

The ACFA school at the Zorokoro Children’s complex has opened for pre-K and kindergarten for the ACFA toddlers as well as children from the surrounding villages. Underway also at the Complex are plans for a healthcare clinic, a library and computer lab and a sports complex. We are looking for funding to finish construction and for certain operations. ACFA’s U.S. based Board of Directors works with staff is Mali to further ACFA's vision to empower Mali's children to achieve a future they deserve is only continued by the work of our supporters and volunteers across the globe. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

ACFA is looking for a volunteer Grant Writer who will work with ACFA to help with the grant development and proposal process including writing applications for grants. He/she must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a professional and resourceful demeanor, the ability to work both independently and as a team player. We have a part-time Grant Writer, and this is a great opportunity to work together to apply for a number of grants we have identified and to help us research what other opportunities are available.

This position is a remote position and would require a commitment of at least 10 hours a month.
Requirements * Grant research and writing experience preferred. * Previous experience with non-profit fundraising. * Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals. * Strong editing skills. * Attention to detail. * Ability to meet deadlines. * Knowledge of fundraising information sources. * Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors. * Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research. * French language capability a plus.

We especially welcome candidates with personal or professional experience in West or sub-Saharan Africa, including Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Diaspora Africans living in the U.S.
