During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Teams of K-12 students present their STEM+Arts solutions to tournament volunteers. Due to COVID-19, teams may be meeting virtually or in person, but their challenge solutions will all be submitted as videos to the appraisers. Each team has worked 2-4 months crafting their unique solution to an open ended challenge. They will create, direct, and edit their video themselves and will be scored by a team of appraisers (judges).
Teams of appraisers will view the videos and score elements from a rubric. Our state tournament is being held in cooperation with South Dakota and Minnesota. There will be a window of several days in which to score each of the teams (each team videos are 5-6 minutes). Depending on your group assignment, you could be scoring in early March, mid-month, or later March. Online training will be provided in response to C-19 conditions. Scores will be submitted online through tournament software.
Spend some time immersed in the creativity of our kids and provide feedback to help them continue expanding their imaginations.
