IT Computer Wiz Kids Inc. is looking for an exceptional part time Virtual Assistant. The mission of IT Computer Wiz Kids (Wizkids) is to give youth and adults the confidence to pursue careers in Information Technology (IT) and the computer industry in a fun, exciting, learning environment and to provide technology education and job training that will prepare them for life. As a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization Wizkids is committed to teaching youth and adults about technology from underrepresented and underserved communities. Through hands-on, experiential team-building activities and a life skills-based interactive approach, we uncover people's talents and guide them through multiple Information Technology (IT) learning development channels. Our students range from K- seniors because it is never too soon or too late to learn. Our Techno Savvy Seniors (A division of IT Computer Wiz Kids) program unites youth instructors with senior generations in bridging the digital divide.
Virtual Assistant Responsibilities include:
Good organizational and multitasking skills
Web Savvy with Google+ Google drive, Microsoft One Drive. Should have experience with social media Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
Experience with non-profits, charities, youth organizations, and small businesses. IT background is a big plus
Post Covid-19 assist 1-2 times month facilitating workshops in San Diego, for now you will assist with virtual classes, and fundraising events with meeting planning experience (advertising, registration, mailings, conference/class room / logistics)
Can create, maintain, webmail, Gmail, calendar, Onenote and update various Excel sheets and databases as well as maintain contact lists
Must like and work well with people ages 7 - 24
Some website on Wix experience with ability to make small modifications or have a strong interest in learning
Home or virtual office should include: latest version of Apple or Windows 10, a PC\laptop or tablet. Printer (or access to printing services) latest version of MS Office, Mac or PC, Outlook, QuickBooks is a plus

Youths will learn how to speed up computers, back up data, protect and remove spyware and avoid fatal viruses. The cutting-edge educational skills youths attain will provide them with a bridge to becoming productive and self-sufficient adults. Participating students who demonstrate sufficient interest and proficiency are mentored and trained to teach various segments of the course curriculum. As their confidence increases, IT Computer Wiz Kids’ interns are able to teach and serve as peer mentors to their fellow students, and contribute to the program’s growth. IT Computer Wiz Kids continues to attract adult IT professionals who demonstrate a passion to guide youth and young adults for careers in information technology.

The program’s focus is to serve underprivileged and at-risk youth who reside primarily in the greater Washington D.C. area. All activities are conducted around established school-year calendars with classes being held both during class time as well as afterschool and on weekends as well.
