The Warehouse Volunteer

Works in the back of the store handling incoming donations and as needed in the front assisting customers with moving large items to their vehicles. a.) Lift and sort through bags and boxes of donations. b.) Proper sorting of quality merchandise. c.) Placing donated items in the proper areas of the back. d.) Greet and assist the donors and provide tax receipts.
Wolunteers must

  • Always displays a pleasant, positive, customer service attitude.
  • Lift and sort through bags and boxes of donations.
  • Wear proper safety equipment.
  • Assists with stocking merchandise the sales floor areas with products.
  • Assists in assigned areas of the warehouse, TBA by warehouse manager
  • Assists with the moving of furniture or other heavy items as needed.
  • Assist to ensure that the store & warehouse are neat and orderly for the next business day
  • The ability to listen to instructions and learn from those instructions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a volunteer to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the volunteer regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel and to reach with hands and arms. The volunteer is required to sit, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The volunteer must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Exceptions may apply on an individual basis.
