Calling all dog-loving professionals in Dallas, Texas!
Join the DogFest Texas volunteer event committee and help create fun dog-friendly event at the Sound of Cypress Waters. The event supports Canine Companions. Canine Companions is a national nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs, free of charge. Our dogs perform practical tasks that enhance independence and reduce reliance on others. They aren’t just the ears, hands and legs of their human partners, they’re also goodwill ambassadors and often, best friends.
DogFest Texas goals The #1 goal for the event is to celebrate human-canine bond and invite everyone with their pet dogs or service dogs to enjoy a fun day together. #2 goal is to raise awareness to the work Canine Companions does and to raise funds.
Event Committee Role& time commitment The event committee is planning and executing the fun community event with the support of Canine Companions staff. Planning phase is January - September. The event is on October 2, 2021. The committee meets regularly* (virtually or in-person as possible) to discuss about progress and brainstorm fun Dog-friendly event experience for everyone in Dallas to enjoy. *monthly at first, weekly closer to the event.
Your role We are looking for positive, go-getter dog-loving folks who would love to help with an event project between January 2021-October 2021. If you have experience in any of the following areas below that is a huge plus: event planning, community festivals, sales, marketing, PR, social media marketing, fundraising or any other areas that you think might help us.
