Organizational Overview: Tiny Blessings Foundation provides Atlanta-area low-income moms with a month's supply of most essential items needed for a newborn, infant, or toddler. The foundation offers 3 age-based packages named blessing boxes. For moms living below the poverty line, purchasing essential items for babies or toddlers is a financial burden often too great to overcome. Add in clothing, hygiene products, baby carriers, and other essential gear and the costs quickly climb to hundreds of dollars that many families simply don’t have. As a result, a child may be forced to go without these vital goods. Offering a blessing box for low-income mom provide sessential items for babies or toddlers and is a great unmet need in the Atlanta area. These blessing boxes are provided, free of charge, to low-income mothers and families across virtually all social service sectors: homeless outreach, hospitals, daycares, parenting classes or programs, and many more. Volunteers aid in generating the blessing boxes that are filled with clothing, blankets, diapers, wipes, and other essentials. With help from our volunteers, Tiny Blessings will be able to provides these boxes to low-income families and moms.

Position Overview: Board members offer to head tasks/duties of the needs from Tiny Blessings Foundation. Board members attend meetings, receive updates and vote on board matters. He/She have the right to make motions, discuss them and vote on them. After serving as a board member, these individuals might ascend to the secretary, treasurer, vice chair and eventually chairman of the board positions. Board members serve a two-year term. Core Areas of Responsibilities1. Routinely attends board meetings and other important/relevant meetings.2. Makes serious commitment to contribute actively in Tiny Blessings Foundation work.3. Understands the organizational mission, goals and objectives, and programs. 4. Volunteers for and takes assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.5. Stays knowledgeable about committee matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and remarks on minutes and reports.6.Builds a rapport with other committee affiliates and shapes a collegial working relationship that contributes to agreement. 7. Is an active contributor in the committee's annual evaluation and planning efforts.8. Invites others to give financial funding; volunteer in operations and help open doors for philanthropic funding. 9. Formulates, supports, and monitors long-term goals and objectives. 10. Formulates and approves policies. 11. Grows financial funds for attaining goals and long-term financial growth strategy. 13. Assures legal and ethical integrity and uphold responsibility. 14. Recruits other strategy and program volunteers. 15. Understands our story and advocates for the organization in the community. Declaration of Candidacy

Board positions require a time and energy commitment that should not be underestimated. Candidates are urged to consider personal priorities for the next year as well as the ways to contribute to the development of the organization.

Donations:
As with any Board, members will be solicited for a cash or in-kind donation; 100% participation is sought; the amount is optional, but we ask that board members consider giving at a leadership level. Board members should maintain an active membership status during their term.
