We are recruiting and training individuals who would like to assist with our patients and families. Would you be willing to be a friend, companion, and helper to someone in the final chapters of their life? Do you have a particular skill in music, pet therapy, massage, or Reiki therapy? Would you like to visit with isolated individuals or keep them company while their family care-givers take a break? Do you have the special ability to be present with someone in silence, perhaps even to assure that they are not alone as their end of life is imminent and family cannot be with them? There are many different roles and opportunities to touch the lives of others in very meaningful ways.
Hospice volunteers feel a deep sense of satisfaction at being able to help someone at the end of their life, and they feel like they’ve made a real, significant contribution to their community. They are truly compassionate people who make deep connections with patients and their families.

Description
Interim Healthcare of Colorado Springs has been locally owned and in business since 1976, providing hospice care, home and personal care, and supportive and palliative care services. We believe in maximizing the quality of life when the time remaining is limited by offering the best in medical and nursing care, using state-of-the-art symptom management to control symptoms and promote comfort. Our volunteers add value to the social, emotional and spiritual support provided by our team of social workers and chaplains by providing companionship for patients, respite support for families, or helpful assistance in our office.
