Debris Flow Relief Volunteers

As we enter the winter season, the dangers of debris flow will increase throughout the communities hit hardest by the CZU Lightening Wildfires. We are seeking Debris Flow Relief Volunteers specifically in the San Lorenzo Valley and Bonny Doon areas to assist at temporary evacuation centers.

In the event of a Debris Flow Emergency, volunteers will be contacted by phone to be scheduled for support shifts at a center.

Duties of emergency response volunteers at temporary evacuation centers include:

Activation- in the event of an emergency, volunteers will be called upon to assist on short notice if needed.

Initial Setup- Volunteers will assist with the setup of check-in areas, food and water stations, tables, chairs, etc.

Intake- assist with the in-take process of evacuees as directed by County staff.

Distribution- help with the distribution of supplies to evacuees such as water, food, blankets, etc.
