DESCRIPTION
Mock Interviewers help youth and young adults practice essential one-on-one interviewing skills that could make or break a chance at a job opportunity. Mock Interviewers aim to offer crucial feedback to YES clients that will enhance their interviewing skills, sharpen their presentation skills, and build their confidence.
This opportunity allows YES clients to gain hands-on practice on what they learned from our Employment Skills Workshop and to then have a safe space to apply those skills in a highly practical and useful format.
TIME & LOCATION
At this time, we are operating on a hybrid system, offering some opportunities virtually via Zoom and others in-person throughout Orange County, CA.
Each session is approximately 30-45 minutes long. Online opportunities are currently scheduled on Wednesdays and Thursdays (time slots listed below, all in Pacific Standard Time). We likewise offer additional dates and times for Mock Interviews with our school & nonprofit programs; programs can vary on a monthly basis.
- 2:00-2:45pm
- 3:00-3:45pm
- 4:00-4:45pm
- 5:00-5:45pm
TRAINING
- Orientation and review of the Mock Interviewer Volunteer Packet.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must enjoy working with youth and young adults.
- Must have a background in HR and/or experience with interviewing and hiring.
- Must go through orientation and training.
- Must notify YES Staff at least 48 hours prior to appointment if you need to cancel.
- Dress in business casual attire when conducting interviews (no jeans or t-shirts).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
