Red Cross Information and Planning volunteers are responsible for gathering assessment and operational data required for the effective management of a disaster response, including information about the scope of the disaster and the effectiveness of the response.
Volunteers do this by tracking financial & statistical information gathered thru situational awareness, GIS and creating mapping and analysis.
Volunteers should have strong communications, computer and analytical skills; be detailed oriented, possess good follow-up skills and experience with GIS is helpful but not required.
