Silver City Uprising is seeking qualified candidates to join our Board of Directors. Our mission is to create, build, and promote economic empowerment within the community, and positively contribute to the growth and development of our youths through mentoring. For this generation & future generations.
Qualified candidates must have at least 1-3 experience serving on a Corporate or Non-Profit Board.
Attend and actively participate in all four (4) virtual zoom meetings, except in case of a family or business emergency. Govern the organization in accordance with the By-laws.

Description
Our History
SCU was formed to address the lack of youth programs in Meriden. Due to the rise in violence in 2020, we are trying to keep the youth out of the streets and away from gangs. With Mentoring through our Youth Elevation program, we will work to make sure our youths do not fall victim to crime or even worse death. From middle school to high school is usually around the time kids can be influenced by their peers, tv, or even family and can start to make bad choices. Our Youth Elevation Program will be another option to choose from instead of the streets.
SCU will have a big impact on college students and volunteers through our Internship Program. We will supply real-world experience where they can help be apart of our Online Learning Platform built by our interns. Whether you are planning to be a designer or need experience coding we plan to get you the needed experience needed.
