Position: Educational Services Intern Together We Learn Location: 321 Calmuet Ave. Dallas, Texas 75211 About Catholic Charities Dallas: Catholic Charities calls the community to action to join us in addressing the root causes of poverty, hunger, and homelessness by serving, educating, and empowering all those in need. Our mission at TWL is to provide families with a dual generation approach to high quality education for both parents and young children. We strive to give each child the opportunity to grow and develop a strong foundation for learning and to work with families to close developmental gaps especially in the area of language and cognition. Position Description: This intern role with Educational Services will provide a student with unique opportunities to utilize and grow their skills in data entry, processing both qualitative and quantitative data, generate reports, organizing events for the clients. In addition to the tasks listed before, interns will also have the opportunity to build their skills and experience by working with a wide spectrum of individuals in the field of education by working with parents, young children, and school age children. In compliance with the safety and clearance procedures with the Diocese of Dallas, interns will have to complete the entire volunteer screening process for Catholic Charities Dallas. This includes submitting the online screening form, submitting a background check, responses from 3 references, completion of a safe environment video training, and an interview with the Director of Education Services. Please note that all interns who wish to interact with the children must complete a separate set of clearance procedures which includes a TB test and FBI finger printing. This is to further ensure the safety of the children we work with. Duties Include:

  • Data Entry, Processing both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Generate Reports Organizing events for clients
  • Update and engage clients on Social Media Pages
  • Help create learning packets for children to take home with them
What makes a successful intern? -Passionate about Early Childhood Education - Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish), but not required - Highly motivated & autonomous individual - Excellent communication, interpersonal, phone, and organizational skills - Having an attitude of helpfulness and courtesy - High level of computer savvy & an intermediate level of data-entry abilities - Problem solving & critical thinking skills - Willingness to be trained as needed
