The Role:

  • The Webmaster Project Leader position manages projects focused on website functionality, new web-based systems deployments and improvements as well as other web tools deployments and improvements useful for the organization. Leading a team of webmasters and working together with all stakeholders.
  • Support the Technology Group by managing a team of volunteers in the area of webmasters.

What you will be responsible for......

  • Manage on average 2-3 volunteers within the Webmasters team.
  • Plan and conduct weekly engagement & project-related or development team meetings, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up.
  • Manages and delegates the work for the Associate Webmasters and Interns, as assigned by the Project Leader of UX Development, Associate Director of Technology or the Director of Technology.
  • Provide a monthly report on status update to Associate Directors & Directors.
  • Manage and lead projects spawned by webmaster tasks including, but not limited to:
  • Technical support on web-based systems and tools used by the organization.
  • Ticket solving involving web systems supported by the Technology Group.
  • Components, modules, plugins or add-ons updates for Content Managers and other web systems.
  • Minor updates for base or core systems.
  • Web systems backups.
  • Manage and lead projects including, but not limited to:
    • Major updates for base or core systems.
    • Web systems migrations and restores.
    • Research and deployment of new components, modules, plugins or add-ons for Content Managers and other web systems.
    • Research and deployment of new web systems.
    • Knowledge documentation projects.
    • User manual and training projects.
    • Give feedback on process creation and modification.
  • Ensure site backup and security.
  • Responsible for maintaining the high ranking already achieved and continuing to increase the number of visitors to the site..
  • Management of the web store and proper categorization of news articles.
  • Work with the webmaster to increase visitors.
  • Provide a monthly report of your team’s progress to the President and Vice President.
  • Attend weekly Technology group and project-based meetings in EST Time Zone.
  • Update timesheet minimum on a weekly basis.
  • Complete the Timesheet audit for the Associate Level and Interns each month.
  • Report to Associate Director for the given project team.
  • Create and manage SOP and policies for the Web masters Team.
  • Create and manage the Project Plan and deliverables for projects.

  • Experience as a Project Manager in the Information Technology field.
  • Familiarized with IT best practices.
  • Familiarized with Free and Open Source Software.
  • Familiarized with Web Technologies.
  • Familiarized with projects related to CMS such as Typo3, Drupal, Joomla or WordPress. Experience a plus.
  • Familiarized with projects related to web systems like ERP, BPM, LMS, etc. Experience a plus.
  • Should proactively look for any web technology that can be improved as well as tasks that can be done. Ability to share knowledge and to openly give feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.
  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
