Social Media Guru for our 2021 Virtual March for Marrow CA 5K Run & Walk

ORGANIZATION: Aplastic Anemia MDS International Foundation

As patients and family members we are so busy taking care of our patients - or ourselves in this period of COVID-19. In order to promote our work on our 2021 Virtual March for Marrow California, which will include a Virtual 5K Run and Walk as well as an online raffle, we need a clever and committed Social Media Guru.

We have a lot to learn and would love to learn from younger, smarter and more clever young people from the Houston area.

In addition, we are trying to go paperless - although we do have a great flier featuring our 2021 Champion, Meghan Lambe, who went through a bone marrow transplant and is doing well. We are open to advice as to how best to use it. But it seems social media is the best way to go.

We want the word to be broadcast from So-Cal to No-Call. This is a Statewide Virtual event.

Our schedule for Saturday, 4/24/2021, Sunday, 4/25/2021, and Saturday, 5/1/2021, will run for about 2 hours, 9:00 am to 10:30 or 11:00 am.

Monday, 4/26/2021 to Friday, 4/30/2021, will only be 1 hour - perhaps 1 ½ hours.

There will be the Kick-Off including sounding the start of the 5K Run and Patient and Family Walk - complete with selfies. We will have a couple of doctors speak and a couple of patients telling their stories. We hope to attract a couple of high school groups - bands and or a cheerleading squad - all with proper social distancing.

During the week we will invite certain doctors, nurses, patients, celebrities to join us - we are busy recruiting now.

On Saturday, May 1, 2021, we will hold our Moment of Remembrance and Closing Ceremonies, catch up with our 5K Runners and have them log in their times and announce our Top Fundraisers and our Raffle or Auction WINNERS!
