Our 2021 VIRTUAL March for Marrow 5K Run & Walk will run for 7 days from Saturday, April 24 to Saturday, May 1, 2021. Although all of us will be involved we need someone experienced in running Zoom conferences who can work with our Foundation person in Maryland, Julie Powers, and make sure that everything works smoothly.
Our schedule for Saturday, 4/24/2021, Sunday, 4/25/2021, and Saturday, 5/1/2021, will run for about 2 hours, 9:00 am to 10:30 or 11:00 am.
Monday, 4/26/2021 to Friday, 4/30/2021, will only be 1 hour - perhaps 1 ½ hours.
There will be the Kick-Off including sounding the start of the 5K Run and Patient and Family Walk - complete with selfies. We will have a couple of doctors speak and a couple of patients telling their stories. We hope to attract a couple of high school groups - bands and or a cheerleading squad - all with proper social distancing.
During the week we will invite certain doctors, nurses, patients, celebrities to join us - we are busy recruiting now.
On Saturday, May 1, 2021, we will hold our Moment of Remembrance and Closing Ceremonies, catch up with our 5K Runners and have them log in their times and announce our Top Fundraisers and our Raffle or Auction WINNERS!
We would want this volunteer attend some of our committee meetings and meet with us and our Foundation staff person who runs all the webinars for the Foundation. https://www.aamds.org/education/courses
