We are looking for a volunteer who can widely expand Straight Talk’s presence and visibility on popular social media sites. A successful candidate will be someone with a strong understanding of the digital media landscape who can conceptualize and lead innovative, interactive campaigns. A background in social and digital marketing is welcomed, but not required. Our mission is to deliver quality, compassionate mental health services to all who might need them-and the Social Media volunteer is the perfect partner to share that vision with others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage agency’s social media accounts and publish relevant content
Engage with clients and the public digitally in a manner that promotes engagement
Brainstorm campaign ideas to capitalize on the latest trends in social media
Utilize analytics to gauge the activity sparked by campaigns
Perform research to find stories, facts, articles, or other content to post
Complete other digital media projects as assigned
Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
Must be dependable and punctual
Respect and maintain the confidentiality of Straight Talk Clinic’s volunteers, partners, and donors
Familiarity with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Yelp
Experience with Microsoft applications, basic photo and video editing and internet browsers
Must be a self-starter who is comfortable both taking initiative and working in collaboration
This position provides the opportunity for hands-on experience in a digital marketing position within a nonprofit organization, and a mental health counseling center setting. Candidates can look forward to building mentor relationships and shadowing experienced, knowledgeable clinicians and program managers. We offer our volunteers the opportunity to learn new skills, explore your passion, and most importantly, give something back to your local community. Volunteers are highly valued members of the STC team as we believe our volunteers have a significant impact in helping achieve STC's mission. STC will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement with us.
Our mission is to make available a variety of mental health and counseling services for the benefit of individuals and families in need, for whom access or utilization of such services are generally limited, restricted or otherwise unavailable.
Straight Talk Clinic is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1971 to serve families and individuals seeking low or no-cost counseling services and mental health treatment, and/or related services. Our organization have launched numerous programs and developed a variety of specialized services for the disadvantaged populations with limited resources. We have been a pioneer to promote and provide accessible, affordable and effective prevention and intervention services for children and families across Orange County. Straight Talk Clinic’s sliding-fee scale, evening and weekend hours counseling programs address the special needs of low-income groups including children, adolescents, parents, couples, and seniors.
