Website Maintenance Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to help us maintain and update our website ( straighttalkcounseling.org ). Our website is very often the first impression clients have of us, so it’s imperative that our site is aesthetically consistent, clean, and easy to navigate. The Web Maintenance volunteer will help design the flow of content on our pages and tabs, and curate visual content. They’ll also update the content, graphics, and displayed information periodically according to the agency’s needs. Graphic design or coding experience is welcome, but not required for this position! All that is needed is a commitment to organization and an open mind to feedback.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an overall website content blueprint
  • Maintain a professional look to the website by standardizing image and text size
  • Help streamline the order and appearance of content that appears while scrolling
  • Decide and maintain continuity of themes and color palettes


  • Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of Straight Talk Clinic’s volunteers, partners, and donors
  • Must be familiar with, or willing to learn, Wix site features and functions
  • Must have some familiarity with basic photo and video editing
  • Understanding of design tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator welcomed


  • This position provides the opportunity for hands-on experience in a webmaster position within a nonprofit organization, and a mental health counseling center setting. Candidates can look forward to building mentor relationships and shadowing experienced, knowledgeable clinicians and program managers. We offer our volunteers the opportunity to learn new skills, explore your passion, and most importantly, give something back to your local community. Volunteers are highly valued members of the STC team as we believe our volunteers have a significant impact in helping achieve STC's mission. STC will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement with us.

Straight Talk Clinic is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1971 to serve families and individuals seeking low or no-cost counseling services and mental health treatment, and/or related services. Our organization have launched numerous programs and developed a variety of specialized services for the disadvantaged populations with limited resources. We have been a pioneer to promote and provide accessible, affordable and effective prevention and intervention services for children and families across Orange County. Straight Talk Clinic’s sliding-fee scale, evening and weekend hours counseling programs address the special needs of low-income groups including children, adolescents, parents, couples, and seniors.
