Do you dare to repair? Are you up for upcycling or mad for furniture makeovers? Then the ReStore Make-It Team is waiting for you!

The ReStore is a donation center operated by Habitat for Humanity Anchorage, conveniently located near Minnesota and Northern Lights. We receive furniture, tools, appliances, housewares, and building materials, and sell them to the public at a discount. This keeps usable materials out of the landfill, makes home repairs more affordable for our community, and helps fund our affordable homeowner programs in Anchorage.

Often we receive donations that need... well, a little love. Make-It Team (MIT) members pick an item, take it home to repair, refinish, or otherwise transform, and return it as a value-added piece for our sales floor. This is a great way to hone your creative DIY skills, volunteer safely from home, and help keep Anchorage in safe, stable homes.

About Habitat for Humanity Anchorage

Location:

900 E. Benson Blvd., Anchorage, AK 99508, US

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity Anchorage works in partnership with people throughout the community to build houses, build hope, and change lives. We do this by building and renovating simple, decent, and affordable houses and by using our voice in the community to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action.

Description

In 1992, we began working locally with a small group of dedicated staff and their desire to eliminate poverty housing in our community. Today, we have served over 100 families and have changed the face of many neighborhoods. Through the years, we have maintained our unrelenting determination to offer families strength and stability by offering a hand up, not a hand out. And none of what has been accomplished so far would have been possible without the support we have received from our generous donors and devoted volunteers. We are so thankful for every dollar donated, every ReStore donation and purchase, and every hour of time given. As we look to the future, we remain excited about the opportunity to be a blessing to future homeowners, to work tirelessly with volunteers, and to continue transforming the communities of Anchorage, Alaska
