Congregation of Israel, a small synagogue located in the City of Detroit, is seeking an Office Assistant. Our diverse, cross generational multi-dimensional assembly of worship offers weekly and Shabbat services, Torah study, and is committed to the cause of social justice.
The Office Assistant will work closely with synagogue leadership, social justice staff, and others to ensure the successful operation and growth of our Congregation.
Primary task will be updating information on Congregation's website and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Maintain the synagogue's calendar, and coordinate events including but not limited to high holiday and Shabbat services and other special events. Contact and interact with members of the Congregation. Communicate with community partners, civic organizations, and government officials regarding various community projects.
Ideal candidate will have familiarity and/or experience in synagogue structure and mission.
