The Court Advocate Volunteer will accompany victims to Order of Protection hearings, family court proceedings, and criminal trials. The volunteer will provide emotional support, and will be a resource for the victim. Volunteers will be responsible for educating the victim on the legal system, and advocating for his/her needs throughout the day. Training will be required. This is a great opportunity to provide direct support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Pee Dee Coalition is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the reduction of rape, family violence, and child abuse and to the needs of its victims.
Description
The Pee Dee Coalition was organized in 1986 and has expanded into seven Pee Dee counties including Florence, Darlington, Marion, Chesterfield, Marlboro, Dillon, and Williamsburg. Satellite Centers are located in each of these counties where services are available 24-hours a day.
Pee Dee Coalition is a non-profit, volunteer supported organization dedicated to the reduction of rape, family violence, and child abuse and meeting the needs of victims. The Coalition is one of 15 domestic violence programs and 16 rape crisis centers in South Carolina and is the only organization that addresses all three of the interpersonal violence issues identified above.
