Assists in the recruitment of individuals and groups to participate in volunteering opportunities:
- Keeps physical and/or virtual files and folders current
- Recruits volunteers through AAPDEP website, social media, volunteer websites and online postings.
- Contact volunteer coordinators of student, community and other service organizations, corporate/workplace service volunteers to schedule Overall Volunteer Coordinator to speak or present.
- Responds to assigned interested volunteers with confirmation emails and calls.
- Develops and updates growing database of volunteers.
- Participates in programs with volunteers, or supervises volunteer coordinator for each event or activity. Takes photos and videos of volunteer work. (No mandatory, this is only is the assistant is local)
- Takes minutes/action iteams (or notes) in meetings with overall coordinator.
- Helps develop and volunteer assignments for students.
- Develops and carry out a volunteer recognition and development program, including:
- Thank you cards, emails, certificates of appreciation
- Volunteer of the quarter
- Assists in planning annual volunteer appreciation events and other virtual or 'COVID safe’ parties
