AAPDEP logo

AAPDEP builds community gardens and garden collectives in an effort to address the widespread food insecurity and poor health experienced by African people around the world. With an emphasis on collective work, skill sharing and sustainable practices, AAPDEP’s agricultural programs have the following objectives:

  1. To increase the capacity of African people to feed ourselves (thereby decreasing our dependence on outside forces)
  2. To improve the overall health of the African community by increasing access to high quality, organically grown produce
  3. To cultivate community ties
  4. To create economic development

*Although we would love skilled agriculturalist & gardeners to join us you don't have to have any agriculture education to volunteer in the AAPDEP Northwood Garden!
