English 1 on 1's teachers use the lessons, quizzes, and homework created by our lesson creators to administer weekly lessons to our students. Teachers also fill out report cards on their student every other week and are required to attend monthly committee meeting and 1-on-1 meetings once every two months. Teachers are not required to speak the same first language as the student, as all of English 1 on 1's student have a basic understanding of English.

Mission Statement
English 1 on 1 strives to break the language barrier for refugees and immigrants. To do this, we we teach English. We teach our students how to communicate with those around them by giving them the most important tool: language. We teach our students how to succeed in the workforce by giving them a key communication tool. We want our students to show others who they are, what they stand for. The only way to do this is by teaching English and introducing our students to a brand new culture.

Through English 1 on 1, we provide individualized learning for each of our students. We do this through an online learning environment that strives to help our students feel confident and successful in daily conversational English. Our online lessons are free and effective, incorporating key vocabulary and lessons adjusted to each students' individual needs. Our online curriculum covers a variety of general and specific vocabulary (i.e. house, grocery store, outdoors).
