  • Bereavement Support Volunteer

    1) Completes follow up calls and mailouts of education and support to families after the death of a patient. This form of outreach provides the needed support to love ones, at various times throughout the 13 months after the death of the love one.
2) Volunteer will also provide reminders upcoming events such as memorial events, grief groups and
other support offerings. ( currently all support offerings are virtual )

3) Bereavement support volunteers may also assist with grief groups for adults and children throughout
month and grief camps for children that are seasonal. (currently all camps have been virtual )

4 )Mailings are fold and stuff monthly mailings, assist with additional related tasks, All supplies will be mailed to your home for you to use each month.

Hospice of Chattanooga begin in 1981 as an all-volunteer agency. Today, it is the community's oldest hospice and volunteers remain a vital part of our agency. As we continue to grow, our need for volunteers grows also!

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 20
  • Orientation or Training
  • Volunteers will need go through basic training and receive additional training focusing on bereavement support. Basic training 4 hours with 12 units on going education through out the month plus focused training 3 hours. The monthly time 2 to 5 hours
