During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
[APPLY ONLY through our website efaglobal.org/apply-now. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED THROUGH VolunteerMatch WILL NOT BE READ.] The teachers of EFA educate students in China through live video calls. Using the lessons designed by the EFA curriculum team, students from all English levels are able to expand their English skills and ability. Most importantly, EFA teachers develop unforgettable bonds with the students as the virtual classes create a welcoming and enjoyable dynamic.
If accepted, our teachers undergo a training period where our amazing teacher trainers will help you develop your skills in the classroom. After you finish the training, you will be teaching 1-2 lessons each week, each class ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Outside of the classes, you would connect with other volunteers from our community by icebreaker and team-bonding activities. An accomplished teacher at EFA should be empathetic, encouraging, positive, and energetic. We will also prepare you with necessary skills through teaching workshops led by our teacher trainers once you are admitted to the teaching team.
APPLY NOW at efaglobal.org/apply-now. See our FAQ page and Instagram (@efaglobal) for more information and details. No previous or professional experience needed to apply. No age limit.

Education For All Foundation (EFA) consists of a group of high school students who strongly believe in the merits of educational equity. EFA offers life-changing opportunities to underprivileged children by providing free, online English lessons to impoverished schools. Learning English is a valuable opportunity for students in unfortunate circumstances to engage with the western world and alleviate poverty.
EFA’s team of high school students embody our mission to provide quality education to underserved students who lack access to educational resources. Since July of 2018, we have expanded to four schools in rural China and taught bi-weekly lessons to over 500+ rural students across the Ningxia, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, and Chongqing provinces. We have raised over $13k USD in scholarship and classroom necessity funds and are recognized by the City of Irvine for our contribution to education in impoverished communities. EFA’s progressive curriculum utilizes modern technology to enhance overall teaching quality. Our funding from local partnering businesses enables us to further our impact.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
