San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory
Fundraising Committee (3 positions)
Concerned about climate change, the environment, or the dramatic loss of 29% of the birds in North America over the last 50 years? Take meaningful action and join the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory Board of Directors! Be part of a research-driven scientific organization that works to conserve birds, restore local habitats, facilitate citizen science, and drive community outreach.
The SFBBO Board of Directors is seeking new board members who can serve as project members and leaders on the fundraising and development team. You will work as part of a team or independently as needed on projects that include donor and volunteer nurturing, fundraising activities, outreach events, and board ambassadorship (including virtual and social media). All board members are expected to complete one fundraising activity related to our largest fundraiser of the year, the California Fall Challenge, either through a gift of time or money.
The qualified individual will have consistently demonstrated organizational skills in a multi-cultural work setting, be a self-starter, and will have demonstrated commitments to conservation. Marketing, sales, and promotional activities and skills are a plus.

The San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory is a nonprofit science organization dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats through science and outreach, and to contributing to informed resource management decisions in the Bay Area.
The Bird Observatory was founded in 1981 by a group of enthusiastic biology students from San Jose State University. We study waterbirds and landbirds of the Bay Area, and also provide bird walks and other interpretive activities for the public. We currently have 6 staff and about 900 members. Our biologists work with nearly 100 volunteers in our fieldwork.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
