Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity is seeking construction volunteers to help us build a better world! This opportunity is for people who are 16 years and older. We welcome volunteers with any experience or no experience whatsoever. All you need is a willing heart and a can-do attitude!
We work every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8am-3pm. If interested, please contact our Outreach & Volunteer Manager at volunteer@glhfh.org or 434-528-3774.
We are currently working on a home for a local family named The Tribute Home. This home was inspired by the heartfelt proposal from the family of Chris Irvine, our beloved construction manager who passed away in 2021, and we are building to honor his memory and the memory of all Habitat volunteers who left behind an incredible legacy of service to Habitat and our community.
What you need to know:
- 9am-3pm with lunch from 11:30-12
- No experience or special skills needed! Our construction professionals and skilled volunteers will train you on anything you need to know!
- We provide coffee, snacks, and water on site for refreshments.
- All tools and safety gear are provided
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on an active construction site
- Dress for the weather and be sure to wear sturdy, thick soled shoes that you don't mind getting muddy! Work boots are recommended but not required.
