We are in need of foster homes for cats awaiting adoption. Although we do have a cattery available where cats can stay while they are awaiting adoption, we prefer our cats to be in a home environment. Cat's do best when they are able to roam freely where they feel safe and secure. We also have cats that do not like other cats, and this poses a problem for placing them into a cattery with multiple cats.
If you decide to foster for our rescue you are not financially responsible for the cat(s) unless you would like to provide food and litter. All veterinary bills are managed by the rescue organization while the cat is in foster care. Experience with cats is preferred but not required.
Your home should have a room for the foster cat to start the foster process in. A small bedroom, bathroom or laundry room will do fine. This is especially important if you have other cats or pets in the home. This starter room allows the foster cat to adjust to your home, the sounds, the smells, and easily get to know you. It will also allow you to introduce your foster cat to your other pets in the home, slowly, which is critical to their ability to get along later. If you do NOT have a room to place a foster cat into, we can provide you with an extra large dog crate, which will also work for the purposes mentioned above.
If you're interested in becoming a foster parent/family, please fill out our volunteer application; https://fancyfelines4adoption.org/volunteer
We will contact you following the receipt of your application to set up a virtual orientation to review the process of fostering, and the cats we need to place into foster care.
We prefer our foster homes be less than 50 miles from our main location, Mahwah, NJ.

Fancy Felines For Adoption Cat Rescue is an all volunteer all cat rescue group who's mission is to lower the number of cats euthanized every day in shelters throughout the tri-state area (NY, NJ and CT) simply due to a lack of space.
Felines For Adoption is a volunteer group working in northern New Jersey assisting in the rescue and rehoming of cats who are at risk in local animal shelters throughout the tri-state area. Our organization is looking for great people who love animals to assist us in this process! Every time a cat is adopted, we have room to save another kitty from the shelters, where they are at risk of euthanasia.
