Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston

  • 2 people are interested

Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters (JBBBS) is seeking a Big Brother for Zach, a sweet 10 year old Jewish boy on the North Shore who loves coding, Roblox, Nerf wars and listening to Hamilton. He has an autism diagnosis and is integrated into a typical classroom at a small local Jewish day school. He has a number of good friends he plays with on a regular basis. He lives with his two moms and sisters. Zach is looking for a male role model (21+) who will share his interests and will help him navigate all the changes that come with pre-adolescence and adolescence, changes that are particularly challenging for a child on the spectrum. The Big Brother can be any age over 21 but needs to have some understanding or experience with a child who has autism spectrum disorder and who is tech savvy. Matches meet 2x/mo, mostly weekends, for a minimum of one year. All JBBBS in-person meetups follow CDC and Mass Govt. guidelines of social distancing and masks. Hybrid in person and virtual is an option. Jewish and Non-Jewish invited to apply. Match support provided by Clinical Match Specialists with Masters Degrees.
