ORGANIZATION: The North American Rescue Collective

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and enthusiastic Vice President to join our small but mighty team. We need an individual who is willing to fulfill the following responsibilities/tasks/activities:

-Develop a strong familiarity and understanding of our organization's structure, history, growth, and future plans;

-Act as standing President when necessary;

-Work with all other Board members to complete tasks as necessary;

-Work with the Treasurer of the Board to ensure completion of annual financial documents relating to 501(c)(3) status, including but not limited to Form 990 and audits;

-Work with the organization's Grant Writer(s) to ensure progress and completion of grants and relevant funding opportunities;

-Provide ongoing feedback to President with regard to administrative and organizational policies for all organization functions and day-to-day operations;

-Manage communication and involvement with outside organization, businesses, and other entities at the request of the President;

-Assist in any organization functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by either the President or other members of the Board;

-Independently work to build and maintain beneficial, positive relationships with other community leaders, organizations, businesses, and entities with special attention to those that reflect NOARC's values and mission;

-Serve as chairperson of the Board as deemed necessary by the President.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

-2-4 years experience in a senior management role for a non-profit organization (preferably animal-related);

-Significant experience working with animals with a preference of dogs in a capacity other than ownership;

-Effective communicator with ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and provide clear, concise explanations;

-Demonstrated experience with public speaking;

-Demonstrated ability and willingness to mitigate conflicts with others and/or between others;

-Strong commitment to the values of force-free/non-aversive animal training and behavior modification and the ability/willingness to uphold these values on behalf of the organization.

Location: preference for candidates based in central Ohio but willing to consider those based in other areas within the Eastern time zone

Mission Statement

Through partnering with shelters in the Midwest region, we strive to aid in the implementation of sustainable programs that address the issues of canine overpopulation, abuse, and neglect. In addition, these programs should promote responsible pet parenthood and encourage community-wide solutions. Further, we help our shelter partners through pulling individual dogs and placing them in foster homes throughout Ohio before ensuring that they are adopted to great homes.
