Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) offers a wide range of services to members of the Armed Forces and their families, including: 24/7 emergency communications, access to financial assistance in partnership with military aid societies, access to confidential Reconnection Workshops, information and referral services, veterans assistance and more.
We are currently in need of Hero Care Regional Family Contact volunteers. These volunteers ensure that military families know they are supported during the critical times of entering the military and preparing for deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure family information is in the case management system
- Email and call military families to provide Red Cross preparedness information
- Provide additional support, as appropriate
- Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- Enjoy working directly with others
- Able to work with diverse populations
- Knowledge/experience with the military is recommended, but no required
