Our Human Rights theme is in the process of creating a program that is dedicated to fostering connection and support in communities who have been historically oppressed. The communities of focus are the LGBTQ+, BIPOC and disabled communities
This will be a program under the We, The World organization and its Human Rights theme. With the tentative name Rethinking community our mission statement is "Rethinking Community looks to promote community through a blog, events and resource pages. A place for community members to remove the masks society has forced them to wear in order to fit in and prosper in society. No longer letting society force them to conform to cisgender, heterosexual, white norms; to no longer be silenced. The three programs strive to give community members and allies a better look into what people in these communities experience. We foster education through our communities partnering with allies to come together to fight injustice, inequity and ignorance."
We are looking for - blog writers in the following topics: current news, opinion pieces, personal experiences - researchers & resource page writers to create resource pages for the following topics: LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabilities, allies and mental health - event volunteers to create event ideas and host events - event partner outreach to reach out to partners we could collaborate on events with - social media volunteers to post to our social medias and increase engagement
People from the LGBTQ+, BIPOC and disabled communities strongly encouraged to apply. Let's do together what WE can't do alone!

We, The World has developed the Strategic Alliances and has the team to achieve that level of global collaboration and effectiveness. In 2004, We, The World launched 11 Days of Global Unity which now annually has more than 700 associated events in over 60 countries. WE Campaign is based on the successful model of 11 Days of Global Unity Campaign.
