About Assistance League of Temecula Valley

Mission Statement

Assistance League volunteers transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs,

Description

Our members believe in the power of the volunteer and the magic of giving. The power of the volunteer is making a lasting impact on our communities. The magic of giving is generated through the efforts of our dedicated and enthusiastic all-volunteer membership.

Our main philanthropic program, Operation School Bell , defines what Assistance League has been doing for the students in Southwest Riverside County for twenty-four years. Since 1989, the lives of approximately 28,000 children have been improved by this program.

Assistance League partners with the Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee and Lake Elsinore, Romoland school districts because they can best determine the children most in need. Each referred child who meets HUD’s regional low-income standards, attending an Operation School Bell 'Shopping Event’ at the local Kohl’s or Target store, is allocated $125 to select needed school appropriate clothing. We clothed 2,554 students in September and October 2019.

In addition to Operation School Bell, we support several other Philanthropic Programs with the proceeds from our thrift shop as well as grants and business and individual donations. Please check our web site for more detailed descriptions of our programs.
