Alzheimer's Association Washington State Chapter, Serving Washington State & Northern Idaho
ALASKANS - we are looking for your support! The Alzheimer's Association is looking for 2-5 Alaskans to join our Volunteer Committee members for The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Training starts in December! Our Volunteer Committee members are dedicated to creating a world free from Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia's. At this time all meetings are VIRTUAL, but we are really in need of persons in ALASKA to help us move forward with our mission! It would be greatly appreciated if you would forward this to your Alaska contacts who may be interested in this opportunity!
The volunteer's role for TLD includes all or some of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (in person and/or virtual), making phone calls to participants, writing thank you cards, reaching out to connections, assisting with marketing of events, participating on the TLD social media pages, fundraising etc. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout the program and is very flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule. We are currently 100% remote.
Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoying connecting with people, enthusiasm, passionate about ending Alzheimer's and all other dementia's, creativity, comfortable talking on the phone and a willingness to participate in or co-host events. This is also a great opportunity for College Students to develop or share their skills. High School Juniors & Seniors are welcome.
Monthly commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month, and as mentioned above, our staff partner is very flexible with what works for you. While our committee calendar centers around individuals holding events on The Longest Day, Summer Solstice is June 20th. We are getting ready for our December Volunteer Orientation training, so this is a GREAT time to come onboard!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Washington State Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Washington State in 1978. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. This Chapter was one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. Today this Chapter serves individuals living with Alzheimer's disease (and related dementias), their families, health care professionals and administrators, and the general public throughout a 23 county service area that runs from the Canadian to the Oregon borders.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
