Many of Preferred Hospice's patients that live in their homes, are homebound and unable to have family and friends visit them. Many caretakers are in need of short respites or breaks to take care of their own needs. If you would be interested in visiting with these families and providing companionship to them, please contact me today. We have a short interview, application, and orientation process and I can meet you where it is most convenient for you. Please contact Christie Brown, Volunteer Coordinator, at Preferred Hospice. Our mission is to have a positive impact on the lives of those we serve, inspire through example, and encourage celebration of life. We will assist with emotional peace of mind and both physical and spiritual healing.


Preferred Hospice is a Missouri-based company comprised of a multidisciplinary team of Healthcare workers who specialize in end-of-life care. Among the senior team are Physician and Nurses who together bring over 50 years of Healthcare experience. We serve patients within an hour radius of our home office in Ozark Missouri.

Volunteers are essential to the Preferred Hospice Team. Direct Patient Volunteers provide companionship to patients while offering emotional support and comfort. Direct Patient Volunteers may also provide respite and assistance to patient caregivers. Office and Administrative Volunteers assist the office staff with many things from mail outs to data entry. Training, education, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
