High school or college student to serve as a social media intern to oversee the agency’s website and social media platform (currently Facebook). This position receives direction from the agency’s executive director or designee to post information of interest to the public using electronic format. This work can provide community involvement hours to satisfy educational requirements or on the job experience for someone in the electronic media or communications field. Seeking a volunteer with the following skills:
- Update website consistently and at regular intervals to attract web visitors and inform visitors of agency contact information, service changes, and social services and daily living assistance resources (example: utility, nutrition, or pharmaceutical assistance; community food distributions).
- Create visual content in electronic distribution format to promote agency events (for example graphic design for fundraising and/or community event).
- competent use of Microsoft Office applications PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word); graphic design applications such as Adobe photoshop
- Proficient understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter.
- Proficient understanding or willingness to learn WordPress to update and add to the agency’s website.
- Skilled in the use of portable communication devices to capture photos and update social media platforms.
- A proficient understanding of communication style, such as Associated Press (AP Style) for the creation of written content to accompany photographic content.
- Understanding of overall organizational communication so the website and social media posts will publicly represent the organization.

Mission Statement
FACES’ mission is a coordinated effort to provide emergency financial assistance, information and referral in the communities of Fuquay-Varina and Willow Spring, North Carolina, for those experiencing crises situations related to shelter, utilities and other basic human needs.
Description
Since 1964, families in Fuquay-Varina have received emergency financial help from our church-supported emergency relief organization. Once called Fuquay Family Aid, our current non-profit, Family and Community Empowerment Services (FACES), continues helping local residents who are in distress.
FACES’ mission is a coordinated effort to provide emergency financial assistance, information and referral in the communities of Fuquay-Varina and Willow Spring, North Carolina, for those experiencing crises situations related to shelter, utilities and other basic human needs.
Today, FACES is helping more people who have lost jobs and simply cannot find work, or have reduced work hours. Many come in to apply for financial aid because they have experienced a major life-altering family or medical problem.
FACES is solely supported by donations from area churches and individuals and the dedication of many community volunteers.
