We are in need of Veteran volunteers to connect with those on our service who are Veterans themselves. Veteran-to-veteran contact and support is needed as those on our service transition to the final stages of life. Veteran volunteers understand the struggles and joys that their fellow veterans may have walked through that a civilian volunteer would never be able to understand or empathize with.
Every time we have a veteran come on our service we like to honor them with a pinning, thanking them for their service. While it is special, it would be more special having a veteran pin a fellow veteran for their service.
With that we have an organization named We Honor Veterans Program that we are growing and are apart of. Having veteran volunteers come in and help build the program would be vital in the growth of our veteran volunteer program and the relationship we want to build with veterans in our community.
