We will work closely with you to start a chapter in your own community! Chapters can meet remotely or in-person, depending on what you feel most comfortable with. This is a great way to take action and make a direct impact on your own community. You can also recruit any friends that are interested!
Since we are a student-led organization, teenager applications are preferred.
We believe that there are no students who hate reading, but students who have not found the right book to spark their interest in reading. To help students discover that spark, we provide curated individualized book recommendations, facilitate book discussions, and run events on reading and comprehension skills!
Description
BookOrators is a global student organization dedicated to providing K-12 students with the tools and resources they need to become better readers. Literacy rates have fallen globally, as schools focus on fixing low test scores rather than emphasizing the importance of developing strong reading comprehension skills. The best way to solve this problem is to encourage students to read for enjoyment, as they are more likely to learn from something that they like doing.
