"The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude."
-J. Miller
Thinking of how you can truly support our veterans in a way that is immediately meaningful?
Well, we have an incredible opportunity for you to be a hero for our heroes! Feonix - Mobility Rising seeks volunteer drivers to help Veterans and their families who are in need of transportation assistance in order to access basic needs. Services such as medical care, social supports, job training programs, educational programs, and even common errands like trips to the grocery, church, and pharmacy are all necessary for a fulfilling life. Sometimes there are gaps in our transportation system that leaves our servicemen and servicewomen out of touch. We want to give them more. We want to do better.
Our volunteers give rides to Veterans who do not have their own transportation. This is a pilot program, with an emphasis on helping out during November and December. An incredible way to complete acts of kindness and gratitude as we move toward the Holiday Season.
Our goal is to improve the lives of our most treasured community members who’s needs are critical, but who’s transportation is limited. We are building a volunteer force to ensure that our local Veterans do not suffer unnecessarily due to transportation issues.
We are looking for volunteers who can answer yes to the following questions:
Does flexible scheduling appeal to you?
Are you a motivated, community-focused individual?
Does helping others make you feel good?
Do you have a car, SUV, or truck that you can drive?
If you believe that serving Veterans in need in your community is a worthy mission, then this opportunity is for you!
As a Volunteer Driver, the position requirements are pretty straight-forward. You must have a current driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance. Also, you must pass a background check and have a smartphone.
Drivers have the opportunity to drive as little or as much as you would like, based upon your schedule.
Please apply or contact us for more information about how to share your positive attitude and give back to your community as a Volunteer Freedom Driver.
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -John Fitzgerald Kennedy
COVID-19 considerations:
All of our Volunteer Drivers go through online infectious disease training based on CDC guidelines on how to safely transport passengers and sanitize their vehicles. Volunteers will also receive a stipend to purchase or will be provided with PPE.

Description
Right now, in your community, there are people who have no way to get to the doctor, the pharmacy, the grocery store, or work.
Here at Feonix - Mobility Rising, we help fill in the gaps in the social service ecosystem for individuals living with transportation insecurity. We’ve been collaborating with communities around the United States since 2018 to solve some of the biggest mobility challenges in our communities.
We recruit and train volunteers and work with local transportation providers to provide free or low-cost rides to people in need. We also provide online disability training (ADAPT) for transportation professionals to help make all transportation accessible to people with mobility challenges.
